to me, it means that things should be

safe - meaning one can 'depart while breathing' lol - so many are involved in edgey type play, (things like breath play and cutting) they need to be done safely...but, that holds true for any type of play - even something considered as 'simple' as flogging - knowing where not to flog, etc...even 'simple' bondage - knowing pressure points - watching for 'limb circulation' and such things...

sane - hmm... that's up for interpretation... what one person might call 'insane' might be total bliss for another!

consensual - meaning whatever transpires is done with consent by those involved - if i don't approve of something, then it shouldn't be done to/with me... this would also be where 'limits' come in... not 'forcing' someone to do something they don't desire..

just my brief brain thoughts! :)
