Thanks for the question, it is awesome to see questions, answers and community participation on the Forum!!!!!

I do not think I have ever marked someone from flogging. A large part of the no mark situation is warming the skin up to receive the flogging! Another part of not marking is how you strike with a particular item, where you strike with that item, the nature of the recipients skin and so on!

Can you mark the skin from flogging, yep Im sure you can!

It's similar with a lot of play items such as bullwhips, can you mark with them...hell yes!

Can you play with bullwhips without marks...yep!

Anyone else got info on this?

being just a rowdy lil bottom, i can only speak from the receiving end... as MsWhip said, it depends on the 'weapon of ass destruction' and how it's used, as well as the warming up...

i will say, that most Tops will ask if i prefer marks or prefer no marks, and area more than willing to oblige either way...

most of the Tops i've played with do very nice with the warm ups :) and gradually work from 'thuddy' floggers up towards the 'stingy' ones...

i have come out of scenes where i thought i'd be black and blue for days, but, it was only a fading red... and then i've come outta some where i look like i've been hit by a mack truck!!

a good Top/Dom/me should be able to meet your preferences :)

Great question niceguy1. I have wondered this same question myself.

I am quite new to pain play and have never experience a flogging or caning before, and was curious as to what "tools of the trade" tend to cause the most pain with the least amount of force. :)

I would not call myself a masochist as I do not directly receive pleasure from the experience of feeling pain, but I do experience extreme amounts of pleasure from the act of sacrificing such pain for the pleasure of a Mistress as a display of ones obedience and submission.

Thank You MsWhip and gapeach for the great answers. I had never thought of how the "warmup" would effect the outcome, but it makes perfect sense.

unless you bruise unreasonably easily anything less than very serious/heavy flogging shouldn't leave marks.
Flogging can vary in intensity from something that resembles a light massage to something that can literally rip the skin off of your back. It all depends on the technique and tools used.
