The communication center will have audio recordings as well as written logs. *IF* a noise complaint was made, the 911 center will have the same info.

I work on the systems in 911 centers, and you make a good point.

Actually, all of our centers are using electronic CADs except for one, where they make written logs. But just the same, any notes entered CANNOT BE ERASED or edited, they can only add to them!

And you are right, ALL radio traffic and phone calls are recorded. (Our centers have "hot" recording enabled, that means that you are being recorded on any 911 line as soon as you hear the phone ringing on your end! Yes, even before the dispatcher answers your call, you are being recorded. This has proven VERY helpful in finding out who was telling a lie!)

Anyway, like you said OB, a "police report" is one thing, but hearing the actual calls tells you a lot more.
