EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR

Consensual/Non- Consensual Play
“Finding Your Edge”

My name is Boomer. I have been invited to give a
presentation in a style of play generally referred to
as Consensual/Non- Consent (C/N-C). The basic premise
of this style is simple. The bottom (for the purposes
of my discussion I use the terms top and bottom to
describe the participating partners) consents to enter
into a scene, relinquishing most of their “right” to
control the intensity of the scene. The top takes the
control of the intensity of the scene. For the
duration of the scene, the top does not seek the
consent of the bottom for what happens in the scene.

At least this is the simple explanation. What happens
before, during and after can be very complex and
complicated. What I hope to share with you will make
the complex and complicated more easily understood.

In my presentation I will have a demonstration of a
C/NC scene. It will be a real interaction between my
play partner and myself. It is usually very intense,
so please be prepared. It may not be very intense for
many of you, but in past presentations, some people
have been somewhat concerned with what happens. It is
not my intent to shock or upset. I wish to educate,
but it is an intense subject and activity.

Also in my presentation, I will talk about some
aspects of C/NC play that I have found useful to
understand.

Among these are:

-Defining what C/NC play is and is not
-Discussion of types of activities in C/NC play
-The need for and methods to establish and maintain
trust
-Physical, emotional and psychological “happenings”
that can occur in C/NC play
-The shared responsibility of both partners in C/NC
play

I will finish with a specific question and answer
period, although questions are encouraged throughout
the presentation.

It is my hope that through this presentation, you will
come to understand, appreciate and want to venture
into a style of play that I have come to love.

Boomer's Bio:

Hello Everyone,

My name is Boomer. I am from Atlanta, Ga.

I want to thank the members of The Red Chair for
inviting me to present for them.

A little about myself…

I have been out and active in the public scene since
1997. In my travels, I have been a member of the
Boston Dungeon Society, Atlanta PEP and The Tribe in
Atlanta. I recently founded and lead a single tail
group in Atlanta, Metro Atlanta Singletail Society
(MASS).

I have presented workshops and demos to folks at
Southeast Leather Fest, The Boston Fetish Flea, The
Boston Dungeon Society, Atlanta S/m Solidarity,
Augusta Iron Rose, L.O.C.K of South Carolina, TTTWD of
Columbia, CAPEX and the Atlanta Youth SM Group (now
Atlanta Whippersnappers) . I have given many private
lessons to individuals from the east coast to the west
coast and a few points in between.

From the time I came out into the public community and
started seeing, learning about and experiencing
various types of play and toys, I have continually
been drawn to one aspect of SM. INTENSITY. I love
the power and intensity that is available to us in SM
activities. I do not claim to be the most, or even
one of the most intense people in the land. There are
no doubt many, many people who would yawn at my most
intense activities and scare me to death with theirs.
But that is not the point of intensity. Intensity has
one and only one meaning and that is what it means,
individually, for each and every one of us. In that
respect, I have found some activities and some
implements that have helped me tap into that personal
intensity and helped make my experiences in SM very
fulfilling.

I look forward to sharing some of my experience,
skills and ideas for y’all.

As always,
Boomer

EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR

Fire Play- The Basics, Advanced Techniques and Safety

Our Presenter for the month of June is our very own Craig.
Craig has been involved in BDSM for 16 years which includes most of his adult life. He has been an active member of The Red Chair since a few months after it's creation. He has served on The Leadership Team and led the group for several years. He has always had an interest in edge type play especially knifes, fisting, needles, piercing, fire and electricity. Having been a firefighter for many years it seemed just natural for him to explore fire a bit more. When he's not playing with fire and torturing girls he enjoys riding his Harley. The demo will be very relaxed and fun. It will include safety, materials needed, basic techniques, and a few advanced techniques.
