Presenter Max
Max has been active in Seattle's kink community since 1992 and has been teaching bondage, BDSM and poly workshops since 1999. He's actively and successfully polyamorous and has several wonderful long-term partners.
While he is proficient with a wide range of BDSM skills, Max especially likes the intimacy of rope bondage. Max projects a gentle, dominant energy and all of his relationships - and most of his scenes - include a substantial D/S component.
Max's love of teaching shines through his workshops, and his love for people informs his private instruction and BDSM coaching sessions. He has presented at leather conventions around the country to include Living in Leather (LIL), Thunder in the Mountains, the Folsom Fringe, KinkFest, BodyBound and Shibaricon. He's taught at events sponsored by Seattle's alternative paper the Stranger, Babeland, and Seattle Men in Leather, exhibited at James Mogul's seminal ArtBound events in 2000, and rigged for a number of photo shoots.
Twice each year Max offers a special Bondage Intensive, providing two full days of focused instruction, from the basics through suspension bondage.
Max also serves as producer / chief instructor for Seattle's monthly "Bondage Workshop Series", which has run continuously since 2003.

CLASS 1
Presenter Max
Male & Female Genital Bondage:
This workshop covers some particularly intimate, effective and sexy bondage techniques. We'll start with the basics of immobilizing and tormenting boy-bits. There'll be a nice demo, information on cock and ball safety and some thoughts on how to adapt the techniques to your own situation. Next Max will present a variety of techniques for binding, displaying and stimulating girl-bits. There'll be a demo for this portion too. And then we'll all practice what we've learned, so bring your genitals and your friends with genitals. As with all of Max's workshops, there's a handout you can use as a memory aid when you're practicing at home. Much of the class will consist of hands-on exercises to help you get familiar with the material in a friendly, low-pressure environment. The emphasis is on learning, having fun, and building confidence. If you can, come with a practice partner. If you don't have a partner, come anyway - there'll be lots to watch and we'll try to set you up with a practice partner. Rope Bottoms - this is your chance to meet some rope tops - come learn and get tied up! Please bring two 15-20' pieces of 4 mm (1/8" or 3/16") cord if you can. This workshop is appropriate for all skill levels and all genders / orientations. The emphasis is on learning and having fun.

Bondage For Sex:
Bondage for sex isn't as simple as you might think. It's easy to make mistakes - resulting in a perfectly nice bondage scene and no ready way to make the sex part work. We'll help you avoid this frustrating experience. This workshop will get us right into the "what is sex" debate, and we'll be using a pretty liberal definition. Rest assured that we're NOT limiting the workshop to boy-girl penis-vagina sex here. As with all of Max's workshops this workshop is appropriate for all genders and orientations. Topics to be covered include general considerations, a few useful knots and a variety of interesting positions. We'll have instruction. We'll have demos. And yes - we'll have plenty of hands-on practice. Sorry - the demos and practice probably won't include actual sex. Much of the class will consist of hands-on exercises so you'll have plenty of time to practice and enjoy what you've learned. And, as always, the handout distributed at the workshop will help you when you practice at home. If you can, come with a practice partner. If you don't have a partner, come anyway and we'll make sure you get a chance to practice the basic techniques. Rope Bottoms - this is your chance to meet some rope tops - come learn and get tied up! Please bring the following if you can: (4) 10-foot pieces of 5/16" (8mm) or 3/8" (2) 30-foot pieces of 5/16" (8mm) or 3/8" This workshop assumes no previous bondage experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.

Bondage From A Bottoms Perspective:
Here's something a little different - a bondage workshop that starts with headspace and works backwards to technique instead of the other way around. We'll start off with a demo showing several types of bondage scenes. We'll pull volunteers out of the audience for this portion of the workshop. As we exit the scenes, we'll ask the bottoms to talk about their experience and how the specific elements of the bondage impacted them physically, mentally and emotionally. After a short break Max will present a model for categorizing bondage bottoms and will facilitate a panel discussion on the bottom's experience in bondage scenes. We'll be sure to leave plenty of time at the end for questions and discussion. If you're looking for a "beyond technique" bondage workshop, this is for you. Hearing what's going on in someone's head when they're bound will make you a more capable bottom and a more creative top. Plus - you might get tied up. This workshop assumes no previous bondage experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.

Presenter Leon Von Monkey Fetish
Leon, originally a native of Oklahoma, began experimenting with photography while attending the University of Oklahoma. He moved to Chicago in 1998 and became a part of the pansexual BDSM community shortly thereafter. He is well known for his leadership and activism in the Chicago BDSM community and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Leather Archives & Museum.
Leon has helped popularize rope bondage in Chicago and has taught a variety of topics ranging from techniques of rope bondage to D/s theory at lifestyle events and organizations throughout the region.
His fascination with rope art, sex and BDSM has led to the majority of his work being some form of erotica. His subjects are primarily members of the BDSM community ranging from the professional dominant to the submissive who plays for fun. Rope bondage is easy, it's really really easy. That is, it is easy if you have someone to come and show you how to do it. Otherwise, it can be quite frustratingly difficult. Ths class covers the basics of rope bondage. How do you keep the rope from tightening around your partner's hands? How do you keep them from wiggling out with surprising ease from the bondage you thought was inescapable? What rope do you use and where do you get it? Most importantly, why on earth would I use rope bondage when leather cuffs exist and are easily available? Bring rope.

Rope bondage is perceived to be complex, it is actually made up of simple concepts. By now, you know the basic knots and can tie simple bondage with little difficulty. This class expands on that basic knowledge and uses those basics to build the beautiful ropework you’ve always admired and wished you could do. Bring rope, this will be an interactive class. A limited amount of rope will be available for those who have none.

Rope Finishing & Care
For dedicated rope people, their rope is a fetish. There are about probably as many types of rope, ways to process rope, and ways to care for it as there are types of toys in the leather community. This class will cover some of the different rope types available along with basic care information for each. Finally, we will cover a simple method for processing your own raw hemp into a soft and usable form. There will be examples of each phase of the process to show how the rope changes as it is worked.
